In a competitive market, it is imperative that you, the homeowner do all of the "little things" to make your house stand out above the rest.The first thing a perspective buyer will notice is the exterior of your home – CURB APPEAL!Is it clean and manicured?Are the flower beds weeded and the bushes and trees trimmed?Planting new flowers with plenty of color will help brightened the flowerbeds up.Windows should be clean and shades should be uniform and in good repair.Peeling paint should be touched up to give the house a clean, fresh look. On the interior of your home, you might start by decluttering each room.Find a home for everything:shoes, coats, books and magazines are a few items that seem to stack up.Put away some of your personal items too.Photos, keepsakes and other personal items can be packed away so that the buyers are not distracted when they enter your home.The idea is to give them opportunity to picture themselves living in your home.Too much furniture will make your home look small too.Use just enough furniture to compliment the room and store the rest. Keep bed made and dressers and nightstands free from personal clutter.Bathrooms should be clean and organized.Light should be turned on so that the house looks bright and airy. Open curtains to let natural sunlight also.Well-organized closets are a must; you can store out of season clothing items in the attic or storage facility.This will give the potential buyers that there is an ample amount of storage. |
